The Columbia Room--a newly reopened James Beard Award-nominated bar, owned and operated by Derek Brown--is seeking an apprentice bartender to work full time with a small team to help craft cocktails, serve guests, prepare syrups, bitters and infusions, set up and breakdown the bar as well as participate in research and development for drinks and food. Eat the Rich is looking for a part-time server who can serve wine, beer, cocktails and food to customers based on their requests, as well as make suggestions and provide information regarding all items being served; clear and reset customers with all necessary glassware, plateware and flatware, ensuring a clean and tidy dining and work environment during service; operate the POS system, opening and closing customer orders; stock, set-up and breakdown service; make sure dining areas are routinely cleaned before and after service and otherwise assist in all duties pertaining to the operation of the bar. Servers are also expected to keep up their knowledge of the frequently changing menu. Servers will report directly to the manager.

Southern Efficiency is looking for a full-time Bar Assistant/Bar Back. We are looking for someone to play a support roll for our bartenders. The job will entail helping with bar setup, contributing to the work flow, breaking down, and cleaning the bar. The ideal candidate is looking to expand their cocktail and beverage knowledge and seeking opportunities for growth. This is an excellent position with a great company.  Currently, we are looking for someone Thursday and Friday.  


Southern Efficiency is a Southern food and whiskey bar created by James Beard Award nominated bar owner Derek Brown and award-winning oysterman Travis Croxton, specializing in the breadth of Southern whiskey and off the beaten path Southern recipes. The spirits menu is curated by  bar manager Paul Taylor with an eclectic group of whiskies ranging the gamut from traditional Bourbons to whiskey from craft distillers. Paul has also created a whiskey-focused cocktail menu that includes classic cocktails alongside cocktails on tap. The food is created by chef Andrew Clark who has delivered true to form Southern cooking from his pimento cheese to Hoppin' John.

Eat The Rich, Southern Efficiency and Mockingbird Hill are looking for a part-time barback who can help stock, set-up and break down bar; set and clear place settings; clear, wash, polish and restock glassware, flatware and plate ware; restock beer, wine and liquor as well as napkins and straws during shift; change kegs and occasionally pour beers and cocktails on tap; and otherwise assist bartender in all duties pertaining to the operation of the bar. Barbacks must have a flexible schedule, be available for 40 hours a week and be able to lift 50 lbs. Barbacks will report directly to the head bartender.

The assistant bartender will also be asked to run food from the kitchen as well as take sweeps of the spirits library and lounge, and occasionally pour beer and wine. Assistant bartenders must have a flexible schedule, be available for 40 hours a week and be able to life 50 lbs. Assistant bartenders will report directly to the head bartender.

The Columbia Room is a James Beard award nominated bar created by Derek Brown with the premise that we deserve a space to indulge the stories of great cocktails and spirits.To that end, we’ve created two bars in one—a ticketed cocktail tasting room and a seated spirits library—as well as an outdoor area we dub our punch garden (opening Spring 2016). In our cocktail tasting room, we offer both a three and five cocktail tasting menu with snacks paired alongside inventive cocktails. In our spirits library, we offer one of a kind spirits and cocktails a la carte.
